In the world practice there are two main types of the steel supports for overhead power lines – a tower and a steel pole. The new Types of Steel Supports for Distribution Overhead Lines (DOHL) which we have developed have a narrow base and variable cross section like a steel pole and lattice flats like a tower. Combination in these constructions the mentioned decisions succeeded to unite in new supports the advantages of the both supports types known, and to avoid the most of the disadvantages which each of the types possesses separately.
We have two different types of supports – for middle voltage DOHL ( 6-10 kV ) and for high voltage DOHL ( 35-110 kV ). All supports which we develop are made from bent steel profile of variable cross – section. Our supports are easily transported and their loading parameters of transport devices are high. The main advantage over “tower” type support is the smaller volume of work on freight carrying, mounting, foundation constructing which results in cheaper power transmission lines and shorter construction period. The support surfaces are grids from one to four sides, which allows easy climbing a support for the assembly and servicing personnel.
The supports for middle voltage DOHL ( 6-10 kV ) are consist from one bent steel surface and one lattice flats surface. The support cross-section in foundation is 460×230 mm. Supports height is 9-12 m, its weight is 280 – 350 kg. The bending strength of support are 73 kNm. Supports are mounted by bondage ore by flange on one foundation that is made from a steel tube in diameter 219 – 325 mm. If required the supports can be easily dismounted and remounted at a new site. The support mechanical strength allows to use 70-120 square mm cross-section wires spanned 80-120 m in regions of 29-36 m/sec winds and glaze deposits of 5-20 mm.
The supports for high voltage DOHL ( 35-110 kV ) are consist from four bent steel belts and four lattice flats surfaces. The support cross-section in foundation is 660×660 mm ore 810×810 mm.
Supports height is 21-26 m, its weight is 1080-2000 kg depending on numbers of chains and power distribution line voltage. The bending strength of support piles are 480 ore 600 kNm. Supports are mounted by flange on one foundation that is made from a steel tube in diameter 530 – 720 mm and if required can be easily dismounted and remounted at a new site. The support mechanical strength allows to use 120-240 square mm cross-section wires spanned 200-350 m in regions of 29-36 m/sec winds and glaze deposits of 5-20 mm.
Support pillar construction is patented in the Russian Federation according to international rules PCT. The support have been mechanically tested and certified in Russia national certification system.
Supports are manufactured by definite portions.
The general buyers are power systems, biggest Russian enterprises gas, oil and mining industries (Gazprom, Transneft, Lukoil, Sibneft, Alrosa, and others). The main constructed objects are power distributions lines to supply to industrial users.
For today in Russia it is constructed more than 3000 km DOHL on supports developed and produced by ELSI Group.
