This work describes the development of an automatic electrical switches allocation technique for radial distribution systems based on graph theory, in particular, it is applied the theory about the minimum cost spanning tree of a graph. Constraints related to the radiality of the distribution system as well as the curtailment minimization (load shedding) are considered in this proposal. At the end of this paper, it is presented numerical results involving the application of this technique in a small electrical distribution system (32 buses and 5 switches) for a first validation of this methodology.
