Monitoring and Diagnosis is one of the key technical aspects behind the Asset Management. In the field of power transformers different variables can be monitored and different diagnostic techniques
can be used. At present there is a lack of tools for combining and inter-relating all of the elements behind Asset Management. As
response to this necessity, this paper presents an Asset Management model. Then a brief overview to the traditional and modern diagnostics methods as well as on-line monitoring is presented and finally a methodology for inter-relating and combining different monitoring and diagnostic methods
and transforming the results into a general condition index is proposed.
