The paper presents one way to optimize configuration of switches in meshed distribution network to minimize interruptions payment. Penalization standards are considered for evaluation customers’ power supply interruption. Two of them (Finnish and Portuguese) are tested. Distribution network simulation is excludes reliability calculations by generation a random distribution based on real data from previous years.
Simple genetic algorithm was chosen as the optimization tool not only for its powerful optimization properties but also for its ability to treat boundary conditions as voltage drop in the all load buses or overload of lines by current limitation.
This approach is demonstrated on an example of a real cable MV distribution network.
